How to Find Transaction Numbers

A step-by-step guide to locate transaction numbers from popular payment providers in Ethiopia.

  1. After completing a payment, you will receive a confirmation SMS from 127.
  2. Open the SMS and identify the transaction ID or reference number provided.
  3. Example: The transaction number might look like this: "BKDXXXXXX7" in the SMS.

  1. Upon completing a payment, you will receive a confirmation receipt.
  2. Find the transaction ID listed on the receipt.
  3. Note that the transaction ID provided on the receipt does not include the last 8 digits of your account number.
  4. You will need to manually add the last 8 digits of your account number to the transaction ID.
  5. Example: If the transaction ID is "FT23013XXXXX", and your account number ends with "12345678", the full transaction ID would be "FT23013XXXXX12345678".

  1. After making a payment, you will receive a confirmation SMS from Awash Bank.
  2. Open the SMS and locate the receipt link, such as https://awashpay.awashbank.com:8225/-ABCDEFGHIJ-XXXXX.
  3. Extract the 15-digit transaction ID starting from the first hyphen (-).
  4. The transaction ID should appear in this format: -ABCDEFGHIJ-XXXXX.
